Industry leaders oversee the legacy and educational aspects of Gospel and Christian music

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 11, 2016) – The GMA Foundation is proud to announce its 2016-17 Board of Directors.  The GMA Foundation’s mission is to continue to educate, preserve and invest in the Gospel and Christian music industry.

August 2015–Mark Lowry Signs With Charles Dorris & Associates—Christian Music humorist and singer Mark Lowry has signed with CDA for exclusive booking representation at fairs and special events. Lowry is known to millions as the lyricist songwriter for the mega popular song, “Mary Did You Know”. His time on stage as a singer has showcased his great sense of humor. For part of his career, Lowry has been a member of the Grammy Award Winning “Gaither Vocal Band”, where his jokes and constant banter with Bill Gaither were a highlight of any GVB event.

March 2015—TAMELA MANN Album Certified GOLD—Charles Dorris & Associates artist TAMELA MANN has received a GOLD album for her award winning release, “Best Days”. This album is the number one seller for the past year in all of Gospel, having outsold the latest releases from Kirk Franklin and LeCrae.

January 2015—AVALON signs with Charles Dorris & Associates For Management—Christian music hitmaker AVALON has signed a management deal with Charles Dorris. AVALON has had 22 #1 singles on CCM radio including their signature hit, “Testify To Love”. Along the way they were nominated for four Grammy’s; won six Dove Awards and won an American Music Award for “Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Music Artist”.

The group members are now worship leaders at large churches. Founder Janna Long and husband/artist Greg Long (six Top 10 singles as a solo artist) are the worship leaders at Woodlands Fellowship in Houston (25,000 members) and group members Jeremi and Amy Richardson are worship leaders at Cherry Hills Church in Denver (5,000 members). The group continues to do select concert dates and small tours. Plans are underway for a new album and video.

The second most visited website in Christian music, iTickets.com, has reported that their #1 most searched for artist for 2014 was CARMAN. 

iTickets is the #1 seller of tickets in the Christian touring realm and was the first major online ticketing service in the industry.  iTickets handles ticketing for many of the biggest names in Christian and Gospel music.

Carman Tour 2015 Launches With Sellouts

The second leg of the “NO PLAN B TOUR” with CARMAN kicked off in February with a string of sellouts.  The first 11 concerts included 9 sellouts.  The sellouts were in Largo, FL, Winterhaven, FL, Naples, FL, Naples, FL, Jacksonville, FL, North Port, FL, Crystal River, FL, Ft. Smith, AR, Tulsa, OK and Oklahoma City, OK.

The tour began mid-year in 2014 touring 52 cities before taking Dec-Jan off.  CARMAN’S latest release (his first in 12 years) “NO PLAN B” hit the stores May 27, 2014.

The tour features 6 digital screens that offer stunning visuals throughout the entire set.  CARMAN sings selections from “NO PLAN B” along with many of his iconic hits from the past.

The tour is exclusively promoted by Charles Dorris and Gerald Roy through their company, DR Artist Management, LLC.  The tour is sponsored by Child Fund International and will continue through fall 2015.



September 2014—TAMELA MANN At NC State Fair—Stellar and Dove Award winning TAMELA MANN headlined a night at the NC State Fair, filling their 5,000 seat grandstand. The concert was “free with admission” to the fair. Fair buyer Bobby McLamb reported that “we did not know what to expect but were thrilled to see the seats start filling up during the afternoon. By showtime we had a few scattered single seats but the grandstand was full.” Included in the 5,000 seats were 2,000 “Track Seats” close to the stage. These seats were available for $10 and were sold out days prior to the event.

Charles Dorris and Gerald Roy spent time with KENNY ROGERS during his recent 3-day concert run in Nashville.  Gerald has promoted over 1,000 concerts on KENNY in his long career.  Charles formerly worked at WME, where KENNY is represented and since leaving there has put together sponsorship deals for some of KENNY’s touring.

March 2012—iTickets signs consulting agreement with Charles Dorris & Associates—iTickets, the Columbus, OH based ticketing company, has signed a consulting agreement with Charles Dorris. iTickets is the largest ticketing company in the Christian touring realm and tickets thousands of Christian concerts annually. In this consulting relationship, Dorris will provide a presence for iTickets with the Christian industry in Nashville.
